The mission of Mount Olive Church of God in Christ is to minister to the community to feed, clothe, and visit the less fortunate sick and shut in. In accordance with Mount Olive’s mission statement feed, clothe, and visit. Mount Olive plans to reach out in the surrounding community to serve the senior apartment members, partner with Black Elementary, and open a day care. Currently Mount Olive is developing a business plan to open a day care center to serve the community to provide year-round child care, and a summer program for children from ages three to twelve years of age. The objective is to serve approximately forty children to provide year-round child care for school age children. Long–term goal is to provide transportation for the children to and from school as needed. Mount Olive will seek to partner with senior citizen apartment residents to provide encouragement and spiritual care through a weekly prayer and bible group. Our ministries plan to partner with the school in our neighborhood to support children and the teachers by providing school supplies, and clothing to children in need. Also, accepting referrals from the school of families that may need assistance with clothing. Mount Olive is currently building our youth department by providing weekly activities for our youth to participate to increase the weekly attendance. The weekly youth meeting have speakers come in to speak with children on social issues affecting our youth. Mount Olive currently connects to members through social media to increase our Sunday attendance virtually. Mount Olive’s website is being updated for the current leadership.
